This is just a basic checklist to help guide users through the installation...

#1 - Download and install the requirements.
PostgreSQL Database Server - http://forums.remotehams.com/index.php/topic,176.0.html
RCF v2.1 - http://download.remotehams.com

#2 - Get an API Key and Install RCF v2.1, http://api.remotehams.com/

#3 - Open RCFwizard to configure RCFserver for your radio.

#4 - Open your firewall and router for the ports specified on the "Server" tab in RCFwizard, by default 843,9034,8000 all TCP

#5 - Open the radio in your web browser, http://localhost:8000/

Please post questions here and I we will help you.

Hello Brandon,

I am making good progress. The URL http://ab2tc.getmyip.com:8000/ is now responding and should respond from anywhere in the world. I obviously haven't set the radio correctly, since it seems to be a dummy. How do I run the wizard again? When I go there from work, I don't seem to be able to log in. I just get a very rudimentary display.

Hello again,

I found the shortcut for the wizard and now have the radio installed and working properly. Next step is the audio. I have the audio Umedia audio servers started with the same sattings as before. I then republished the radio, but audio is still disabled. Also I don't see my radio in the list on remotehams.com yet.

Hi again,

Yet another update. Audio is now working. The Unreal audio sounds clean but the player that shows on the radio page is distorted. I always use the Unreal player, but others might not. I still don't see my radion in the remotehams.com list.

Hello again again,

I just saw you come on the site. I am almost all set. Can you make the ATT and PREAMP into buttons rather than sliders? I don't think the preamp slider is working.

Thanks for the report, i'll see what i can do about making the ATT a button,  for the PreAmp slider, that may take some time...

Hi,

Curious as to why they are different. The radio commands should behave identically. Something to do with Hamlib?

I know I have asked this question a million times. How do I insert a hard line break in my welcome message?

With out checking it's either <br> or </br> and I'm probably wrong on both counts.
Have a look at the source of one of my radio pages.
Told you I'd be wrong! It's <br />

Hi,

It keeps diconnecting on me if I just let it sit there. Is there a timeout I have to disable?

How do you mean?
Are you talking about in your browser?
If so I don't get that in Firefox but maybe IE reloads the page and logs you out!
I don't know though.
I've had the reverse issue where somebody logins in, nobody else there, doesn't tune, then leaves their PC on the radio page and by doing so stops others tuning for hours on end, so I had to disable the wait to tune system.

I noticed something like this happening when I was on your radio,  the chats stopped working after some time,   i thought it was because you were editing some router settings...but maybe not....it may be an issue with the Flash control itself

Yes,  the PREAMP isn't working in hamlib, so i cant do much their,  since the ATT did,  i can create a "special map" for your radio, that makes the ATT slider a button.

Once i'm done with RCF and the website, i can start working on improving hamlibs drivers, fixing the radio CAT commands etc....not sure when i'll get to this point...maybe 2011?

Hi,

Getting the mode button is somewhat urgent. I notice that DL3BAA's IC-751 is working just fine. I am tempted to switch to that radio as a workaround. Many of my "regulars" are not happy and I used to get only positive feedback.

THe mode is not going to be fixed ASAP,  we have to wait for the hamlib crew to get to it....

If its real urgent,  a couple of adjustments that will make the users happy,

First,  i must say  setup HRD for your radio,  then set RCFwizard to connect to HRD. This will solve your radio problems...untill hamlib gets fixed...

Second  turn off the  "Wait To Tune" system, under the Security tab,  there must be some bugs in there users are finding and not happy with...
