This tutorial will attempt to explain how to set-up the Unreal Live Server & Unreal Media Server for use with sharing your radio on RemoteHams.com
DOWNLOADShttp://umediaserver.net/umediaserver/download.htmlFirst, install Unreal Live Server. You will find a shortcut to the "Live Server Configurator" under the windows "Start Menu" > "Unreal Streaming" > "Live Server Configurator".
You will need to "Add a New Source"
You should now see a new window open, "Add Video Provider". If you wish to set-up a video feed with your audio, you may select your video capture card here, most users just need to click "Next".
The next screen allows you to select wich sound card is going to be used for the capturing of your radio's audio.
Please leave the settings in this screen at there defaults!
You now can select with port to capture audio from, example, Line-in, Mic, Stereo Mix, etc.
On this window you can select the "quality" of your stream, I recommend using the "Buffered" & "Modem" settings as this provides best quality & performance of the audio. You may also click on Advanced button and select wich format to stream your audio in, MP3, WMA, GSM, etc.
On this window you must type in your "Alias" or "Provider Description".
We are almost finished!
The Live Server is now configured, off to the Media Server now..
Second, install the Unreal Media Server. You will find a shortcut to the "Media Server Configurator" under the windows "Start Menu" > "Unreal Streaming" > "Media Server Configurator".
You now must set-up a "Live Broadcast" alias for your audio stream in the Live Server. We are using a "Static Live Broadcast"
You now must fill in all the "Live Server" connection details for the new alias in the Media Server.
Yay we are all set-up, now open port 5119 on your firewall and try this url
mms://yourDOMAIN:5119/yourALIAS
